Associate
Marius represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial disputes throughout California across numerous industries, including banking and finance, real estate, technology, and transportation. He is experienced in negotiating liability and settling disputes before litigation ensues, as well as handling matters from consultation to trial and appeal, and post-judgment enforcement. He is experienced in formulating legal strategy at case inception, drafting complaints, cross-complaints, motions, demurrers, and other pleadings and papers, handling all aspects of discovery, appearing at hearings, mediating claims, and generally handling matters from inception through judgment.
Marius graduated in 2021 from the UCLA School of Law, where he was staff editor of the Disability Law Journal and externed for the Hon. Maureen A. Tighe in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California. For his undergraduate studies, he was on the Dean’s List and graduated cum laude in 2017 with a degree in Business Administration, specialization in Business Law, and a minor in Economics. Before law school, Marius was the Director of Compliance at a real estate brokerage in Hancock Park, where he oversaw multi-million-dollar real property transactions.
Marius is licensed to practice law in California. He is fluent in Romanian. Although he was born in Romania, he has resided in Los Angeles for over twenty years and is a lifelong Angeleno. When not practicing law, he enjoys lifting weights, strolling down Santa Monica beach, reading colonial legal history, and spending time with family and friends.
- Prosecuted and defended numerous matters involving direct and derivative claims under Corporations Code arising from mismanagement and breach of fiduciary duties, including claims seeking receivership and dissolution of deadlocked corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships
- Represented numerous founders, business owners, and businesses in disputes concerning control over business and usurpation of business opportunities, unfair competition, business torts, and trade secret misappropriation, including handling coordination of multi-jurisdictional international disputes in various continents and engaging in Corporations Code Section 2000 buy out proceedings
- Convinced court to grant summary adjudication in client’s favor of seven figure oral partnership claims
- Vacated by way of motion practice seven figure default judgment years after issuance, resulting in settlement of seven figure class action claims for low six figures
- Defeated motion to stay proceedings related to real estate dispute, resulting in immediate settlement of dispute on clients’ terms
- Secured rescission of notices of default recorded against millions of dollars of real property
- Settled dispute between property owner and homeowners’ association concerning leaks into property
- Settled wrongful foreclosure action years after default on favorable terms for less than principal amount on promissory note
- Engaged in judgment enforcement actions resulting in satisfaction of six figure judgments
- Settled collection action on promissory note for over fifty percent discount from face value of note
- Settled claims for breach of commercial lease that occurred during pandemic on favorable terms
- Settled pre-incorporation partnership dispute between co-founders over startup company
- Settled numerous legal malpractice, real estate, and commercial litigation claims totaling tens of millions of dollars involving business torts, fraud, failure to disclose, fee disputes, and breach of contract issues
- Opposed numerous motions for summary judgment resulting in trial or settlement
- Filed numerous motions for summary adjudication resulting in voluntary summary dismissals of claims
- Defeated demurrer to complaint simultaneously alleging direct and derivative claims, convincing court to allow action to proceed both derivatively and directly
- Opposed motion to compel seeking doomsday sanctions resulting in no doomsday sanctions
