Associate
Brian Zhang is a litigation associate with Salisian Lee LLP. In that capacity, Mr. Zhang works on a wide array of legal matters across multiple industries, including commercial real estate, insurance and entertainment.
Prior to joining the firm in 2024, he worked for a Silicon Valley-based law firm handling intellectual property cases, largely in federal court. While there, Mr. Zhang predominantly handled cases involving patent, copyright and trade secret concerns involving a variety of technologies, including drug discovery, medical devices and photovoltaics.
Mr. Zhang received his J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where he was an Executive Editor of the UC Davis Law Review. During his law school tenure, he was also Business Director for the UC Davis Business Law Journal, a Moot Court “Top Oral Argument” Awardee and a Witkin Award recipient for academic excellence in copyright law. Mr. Zhang obtained his B.S. in Materials Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Although he considers San Diego, California his hometown, he grew up mostly abroad in Shenzhen, China. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Mr. Zhang is licensed to practice law in California and may appear before the Central District of California, the Northern District of California, the Western District of Texas, the Eastern District of Texas and the US Patent & Trademark Office.
- Representing founders and business owners in disputes involving claims of trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, fraud, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty, among other claims
- Managed complex, large-scale e-discovery including highly technical documents
- Drafted successful motion and opposition briefings in a biotechnology trade secrets litigation
- Represented witnesses in depositions and expert discovery
- Prepared analyses of patent infringement theories for medical device technology clients
